Obituary of Paul T. O'Neil

Please share a memory of Paul to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Paul T. O'Neil, 64, of Conklin, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2016, following a brief illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Betty O'Neil; and his sister, Ann Munson. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Ann (Sullivan) O'Neil; their sons and daughter-in-law, Daniel O'Neil, Luke and Nicole O'Neil; and granddaughter, Eileen O'Neil. Also surviving are his sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice and Ron Stone, Maureen and Dean Carroll, Dave Munson; his nieces and nephews; and his Sullivan in-laws. Paul graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1969, attended the Art Institute of Chicago and Los Angeles, and served in the US Army, stationed in Okinawa, Japan. After working at several sign shops over the years, he began his own business, O's Signs, in 1985. His artistic talent, hard work, and dedication to his customers made O's Signs a successful business. Paul and Ann raised their family in Conklin, NY, where neighbors become lifelong friends. Paul genuinely enjoyed getting to know people, had a kind, easy going way about him which endeared him to many people over the years. He was a devoted husband, proud father and loving grandfather. He was a runner for years, having completed three marathons. The NY Mets were his number one team. Our farewell to Paul is filled with sadness, only replaced with happiness every time we remember him. He will warm our hearts forever. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal Ave., Binghamton on Wednesday at 9:30am. Burial will be in the Conklin Cemetery, Conklin, NY. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton on Tuesday from 5-8pm.
