Eleanor (Giblin) Gunter, 79 of Chenango Bridge passed away Tuesday February 23, 2016. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Teresa Giblin; infant daughter, Mary Terese and former husband, William M. Gunter. She is survived by her two loving and devoted children; son, Patrick; daughter, Colleen (Deric)and three cherished grandchildren, Kerstin (Ryan), Devin, Justin and great-granddaughter, Ellie. She is also survived by many cousins and many close and dear friends with whom she had many good times. Eleanor was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Hillcrest and it's Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She was employed at NYS Department of Labor for 36 years as an Executive Secretary and was a member of the Civil Service Employees Assoc. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Chenango Street, Hillcrest Monday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J. A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Eleanor may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 3049. Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.
