Obituary of Rita Jean Hawkes

Rita Jean Hawkes, of Binghamton, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016. She is predeceased by her parents, Maurice and Bernice Duffy. She is survived by her brother, John Duffy. She is also survived by her children, Judy and Joe Romani, Jeff Hawkes and Lynn Solowiej, Jerry Hawkes. She was a loving "Gaga" to Rita (Dan) Reynolds, Dr. Joseph W. Romani, Michael Romani, K.C. and Natalie Hawkes. She was "Great Gaga" to Colden Reynolds. Several nephews and a niece also survive. She was a member of the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Binghamton. Rita graduated from Binghamton North High School and the Wilson Hospital School of Nursing and retired from Willow Point Nursing Home. Rita's family expresses their gratitude to Marlene West, her Special Angel. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal Ave., Binghamton on Monday at 9:30am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton on Sunday from 1-3pm.
