Martin, Gino Binghamton: Gino Martin, 85, of Binghamton, died Sunday, July 22, 2012, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Carmella Martin; his brothers, Patrick, Albert, and Freddy Martin; his sisters, Alice Houghtalen, Minnie Travis Bundy, Geraldine Esposito; and longtime companion, Frances Menichelli. He is survived by a devoted sister, Rosalie Tedeschi and Lillian and Anthony Shantillo; and sister-in-law, Irene Martin, all of Binghamton; several nieces and nephews. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Binghamton, and served Funeral Masses for many years. Gino was a retired policeman for the Binghamton Police Department serving from 1953 until his retirement in 1978. He was the former proprietor of the Bowery Tavern and a US Navy veteran of World War II and member of American Legion Post 80. The family wishes to thank Lourdes Hospital Seton 1 and Br. James Bagann for their compassionate care of Gino. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Court Street, Binghamton, Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Entombment will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements are by the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton.
