Obituary of Eleanor R. Daly

Eleanor R. Daly Daly, Eleanor R. Binghamton: Eleanor R. Daly, 96, of Binghamton, died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at the Willow Point Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her husband of 75 years, Arnold Daly; and her daughter-in-law, Linda Daly in 2006. She is survived by her children, Lorraine and Robert Herbst, Chenango Forks, Allan and Margaret Daly, Binghamton; her grandchildren, Jenifer and Ronald Sopko, Stefani Mowry and Timothy Mowry, Sandra and Timothy Brownell, Karen and Ronald Rich, Crystal Baer; great-grandchildren, Allan-Michael, Ty, Carson, Yuri, Lauren, Emily, Jesse and Ayana; several nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton. Eleanor and Arnold enjoyed vacations and trips with family and friends. Eleanor was a wonderful cook and always welcomed her family and friends into her home. She created beautiful pieces of needlework. Eleanor and Arnold lived independently until age 94 and often traveled to local restaurants, entertaining anyone who they came in contact with. The family wishes to thank the staff at Willow Point South 1 Unit for the wonderful care, especially Trish Maney. Funeral Services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Saturday at 9 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Friday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Eleanor may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38105.
