Obituary of Shirley Anne Gaffney

Shirley Anne Reardon Gaffney Gaffney, Shirley Anne Reardon Endwell: Shirley Anne Reardon Gaffney, 77, of Endwell, died peacefully Saturday, June 2, 2012, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Roger J. Gaffney; and her parents, Gerald and Margaret Reardon; and her brother-in-law, Edward Gavin. She is survived by her children, Patrick Reardon Gaffney and Sandra Gaffney, Spencerport, Linda M. and Joe McManus, Camillus; her grandchildren, Tara, Kate, George, Joseph, Daniel, Kelly, Shannon, and Samantha; her sister, Mary Ellen Gavin; brother, Gerald F. and Jacqueline Reardon; brothers-in-law, Walter and Phyllis Gaffney, Lawrence J. Gaffney; several nieces and nephews; and a close personal friend, Barbara Hawley. She was a member and daily communicant at the Church of the Holy Family, Endwell, and a member of the Altar-Rosary Society. Shirley was active in the Perpetual Adoration Chapel. She had many friends and was loved by all. Special thanks to Father Clarence Rumble and Don Bergin for their constant visits. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis St., Endwell, Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Shirley may be made to Catholic Charities of Broome County, 232 Main St., Binghamton, NY 13905 or Lourdes Breast Cancer Center, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, NY 13905.
