John M. Hannon Sr. | Visit Guest Book Hannon, John M. Sr. Johnson City: John M. Hannon, Sr., 71 of Johnson City, died Friday afternoon, May 11, 2012 after a brief illness at Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Dorothy Hannon; his brother, George Hannon, Jr.; and his sister, Helen Shipko. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Slimbaugh Hannon, Johnson City; his children, John M. Jr. and Hallie Hannon, Watertown, CT, Patti and Patrick Fendick, Johnson City; grandchildren, Bridgette and Ryan Fendick, Mallory and Seth Hannon; a sister, Doris and Alric Johnson, Denver, CO; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dr. William and Suzanne Slimbaugh, Vestal, Sharon and Arthur Wolf, Fairfield, CT; several cousins, including Darren Hannon, Dennis Hannon, and Jack Hannon; several nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. James Church, Johnson City and was a retired salesman at Olum's, Inc. John enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of the Greene Rod and Gun Club. He had a love for English Setters, especially "Alec". The family wishes to thank the staff of ST4 and ST5 at Wilson Memorial Hospital. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. James Church, Johnson City on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of John may be made to the Humane Society, 2 Jackson St., Binghamton, NY 13901.
