Robert Cannon | Visit Guest Book Cannon, Robert Johnson City: Robert F. Cannon, 88, of Johnson City, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lucia Cannon, Johnson City; his children, Kathleen Goukas and companion Kevin Reap, Syracuse, Kevin and Alice Cannon and granddaughter Elysia Cannon, New Paltz, Kris and Jeff Lojpersberger, Unadilla, Teresa Cannon and companion Riley, Athens, GA, Michele Cannon and companion Brian Bernhardt. He is also survived by the mother of their children, Jean Cannon; and a dear friend, Warren Goldstein. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton, and served in the 15th Air Force during World War II and flew in the European and African theaters. During his time in Italy, he had the honor of serving Mass for Padre Pio. Robert loved to travel. Along with his wife, they traveled the world. It was hard to pick a favorite because they traveled to Ireland, England, Italy, Germany, Rio, Greece and Greece Island Rhodes, Israel, Mexico, and New Zealand. They cruised the island and visited many of the states in our country. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton, Friday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at St. Thomas Aquinas Church Friday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Robert may be made to Association for Vision Rehabilitation and Employment, Inc. (AVRE), 174 Court St., Binghamton, NY 13901. Arrangements are by the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, NY.
