Donovan, Raymond J. Binghamton: Raymond J. Donovan, 84 of Binghamton, died Thursday April 18, 2013. He was predeceased by his parents, Jerome and Marie Murphy Donovan; his siblings, Lorraine, Eugene "Chick" and Jerome "Jay" Donovan and his companion, Mary T. Normile. He is survived by his children, Marie and Michael Browne, Kenmore, NY; Rev. John P. Donovan, pastor of St. James Church, Johnson City; Ellen Donovan, Endicott; Mark and Maria Donovan, MD; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; his sisters-in-law, Ann Marie Donovan and Pat Donovan; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a member of St. James Church, Johnson City. Ray graduated from St. Patrick's Academy and served in the United States Army in Korea and was awarded the Silver Star. He worked at Ozalid/GAF and Singer-Link. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, V.F.W. Post 478 and American Legion Posts 1227 and 758. A Funeral Mass will be offered by his son at St. James Church, Johnson City Monday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery, Silver Lake, PA. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Sunday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Ray may be made to St. James Church Memorial Fund, 147 Main Street, Johnson City, NY 13790.
