Michael F. Furch Obituary
We lost our precious Michael on June 20, 2024, following a motorcycle accident in the Albany area.
Michael had a heart of gold and will be missed by family and friends, near and far.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Francis Furch, Mary and Jim Young, and his maternal grandparents, Julius Hunkovic Jr. and Rosemarie Bengal, (Mimi).
He is survived by his parents, Dale and Angela Furch, his sister, Lauren, (Corey) Thomas and his 2 precious nephews, Caster and Atlas, as well as several aunts/uncles and cousins.
Michael graduated from Binghamton High School in 2008, worked at Advanced Auto before joining the Air Force, where he was honorably discharged. He then went on to get his Bachelor's degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management at SUNY Albany. Michael recently started a job as an Emergency Response Team Technician at NY CREATES, and was excited to use the skills he learned in the Air Force.
Michael was still a kid at heart, and loved family get togethers, riding motorcycles, and playing video games. He loved all animals, and is now reunited with Jet, the dog he rescued while in the Air Force (he would tell you that Jet rescued him.) He left behind good high school buddies as well as friends he made at work and while in the Air Force. To know him was to love him.
Funeral Services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Friday at 1 p.m. Jay Walden, Michael's uncle will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
