Obituary of Theresa R. Burke

Theresa Rose Faughnan Burke, surrounded by family, passed away on March 30, 2015. She was predeceased by her grandparents; father, John Faughnan; brother, Timothy; and daughters, Angela and Greta; and her in-laws, Harold and Yvonne Burke, Sr. Survived by husband, Harold Burke Jr.; daughters, Michelle Burke-Pasquale, Kelley Burke and James Holley, Heather and Jake Lake, and Jennifer Burke; by son in law and grandchildren, Mark, Dakota, Cheyenne, and Savannah Pasquale and Coral, Kiera, Bella, and Xavier Lake; by her mother, Sophia Carol Faughnan; brothers, John and Christi Faughnan, Brian and Sharon Faughnan, and Paul Faughnan; her sisters, Rose Faughnan, Carol and Fred Buchannan, and Margaret Flanders; in-laws, John and Diane Burke, Bill and Grace Burke, Daniel Burke and Etta La Valley, Lucille Burke Salinas, Virginia Burke, and April Burke Quilliam. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts Elizabeth Faughnan, Doris Wheat, Francis How and Eileen Kearns; and several cousins. She is also survived by her little dog, Bunny. She was a proud graduate of Catholic Central Class of 1968 and became a dedicated RN and cared for many in the family and in the community. She fostered a love of nature and her hometown of Binghamton, especially the Southside, Giants football and Yankee baseball. She was proud to be Irish and spoke often of her trip to Ireland. We love you Mimi. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal Avenue, Binghamton Monday at 9:30 a.m. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton SATURDAY from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Theresa may be made to Retired Professional Firefighters Cancer Fund, 4 Loretta Dr., Binghamton, NY 13905.
