Obituary of Joseph A. Benedetto

Joseph A. Benedetto, 84 of Binghamton, passed away unexpectedly Friday March 20, 2015. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Lena Benedetto; his brother, John; and sister, Arlene McAndrew. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Gerri Benedetto; his brother, Leonard; his son, Lawrence; and daughter, Marilyn J. Champagne and son in law Lou and grandsons Alexander and Noah; many nieces and nephews. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He retired from the IBM Corporation after 25 years of service. Joe loved traveling to Maine, Vermont and Florida to be with family and watch his grandsons play baseball and soccer. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Highland Avenue, Binghamton Friday at 12 noon. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at St. Thomas Aquinas Church Friday from 11 a.m. until 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Joe may be made to Lourdes Hospital Foundation, 169 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, NY 13905.
