Obituary of Genevieve M. Sullivan

Genevieve M. Sullivan, 89, died Sunday March 15, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Thomas J. Sullivan. She is survived by her children, Mary Casey and fianc Gary Lee, Binghamton, Michael and Ann Sullivan, Spartanburg, SC, Thomas Sullivan, Brian and Patty Sullivan all of Binghamton; her grandchildren, Christopher, Luke, Sean, Joseph, Emily, Christine and Jason; five great grandchildren; her sisters and brothers, Edna Sullivan, Ruth Chamberlain, Maureen and Edward Bradley, Jack and Mary Giblin, Raymond and Colleen Giblin; sister in law, Mary Ann Giblin; her brother in law, James Lynch and members of the Thomas and Lela Sullivan family; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Kathryn Giblin; brothers, Paul, Walter, Ward, Robert and Kenneth Giblin; and her sister, Kay Lynch. She was a founding member of St. Andrews Church and currently a member of the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Binghamton. Genevieve was an office Professional for many employers, eventually retiring from the State of New York. She was a Past President of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary Council 206 and St. Andrew's Altar Rosary Society; also a member of the Town of Binghamton Historical Society and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Div. II. Special thanks to the staff of the Vestal Nursing Center for their wonderful care. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal Avenue, Binghamton Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery, Silver Lake, PA in the spring. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Gen may be made to Retired Professional Firefighters Cancer Fund, 4 Loretta Dr., Binghamton, NY 13905.
