Obituary of William J. Sheredy

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William J. Sheredy, 78 of Endwell passed away in the loving arms of his family on February 25, 2015. He was predeceased by his father, Andrew Sheredy; his mother, Mary Sheredy (Pellas); and his brother, James Sheredy. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Beverly Crosby Sheredy; his daughters whom he loved, adored and cherished, Lisa and Suzanne (Suzy) both of MD; his beloved dog, Binky, who never left his side; and his grand-dog, Toby. Survived by a very dear brother, Robert (Mary Joan) Sheredy Johnson City; a special brother in-law and sister-in-law, John (Johannna) Crosby Hyannis Port, MA with whom he had a special bond; and nieces and nephews, Kathy, Joanne, Michael and Tommy. He loved life, his family and all his dogs more than anything and put their needs before his. He was selfless, courageous and had a devout faith. To his family he was a protector, a provider and a loving dad that filled multiple roles from giving a big hug to becoming the fix it guy for whatever his family needed. He loved duct tape and found numerous uses for it that made us all laugh. He sacrificed for his family and never ever complained. He made sure all his dogs had the best medical care and shed tears for each of them when they passed. He made sure his family always had a summer vacation, had dogs to play with and he was the first one to grab the car keys and drive his girls from store to store when they had their heart set on a special item. His greatest joy was doing anything for his family and visiting his daughters in MD and having pizza waiting for them when they came home. He loved family holidays and sharing his homemade Bailey's Irish Crme. He made the best breakfast and could flip an egg like nobody's business. He had a sweet tooth and always had a candy bar tucked away for a quick bite and loved the triple chocolate chip cookies at Lourdes Atrium thanks to Pam. He was always up before dawn and woke the birds up to start singing. He enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee every morning, bringing home warm blueberry muffins for his family and Friday night clams with his friends. He was an avid golfer, he loved driving his convertible and going out for ice cream in the summer. Ocean City, MD was his second home and he loved reading books with Binky on his lap and glancing at the waves before an afternoon nap. He loved talking to his daughters throughout the day and sharing which gas station had the best price on gas. He loved to be fussed over by his girls and he proudly wore all the bright colored golf shirts his daughters picked out for him especially when he received compliments about his beautiful eyes. Binky could always bring a smile to his face and he loved to show off her high five trick and her adorable wardrobe. He was the first one to offer help and was most proud of his effort to save a baby pig that wandered from a farm and was nearing the highway. He always kept a special place in his heart for his "son," Joe Parnella. He was taken from us way too soon and will always be remembered for saying "I've come too far to give up now." He was a member of the Church of the Holy Family, Endwell and a retired advisory engineer from IBM and Lockheed Martin. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of the Holy Family 3600 Phyllis St Endwell Monday at 10AM. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Binghamton, NY Sunday from 1-4 PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Bill may be made to the Humane Society, Jackson St. Binghamton, NY 13903
