Anthony (Tony) Joseph Ruffo, 91, of Hillcrest, died on Sunday April 14, 2024. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 61 years, Corrine Ruffo. He was also predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Mary Ruffo; his in-laws Frank and Santina Montone; and his brother Patrick Ruffo. He is survived by his three children, David (Kim) Ruffo, Richard (Erin) Ruffo and Francene (Thomas) McBride; and seven grandchildren, Kelsey Ruffo, Nicolas Ruffo, Richard (Gina) Ruffo, Molly (Jamie) Rogerson, Taylor (Alec) Pirritano, Christopher Ruffo and Gabrielle McBride. He is also survived by his sister, Angie Nosewicz; his brother-in-law Louis (Isabel) Montone; and several nieces and nephews. Tony graduated from Binghamton Central High School, Broome Community College, and Harper College. He retired from IBM Corporation after 35 years where he held many managerial positions. Tony served in the United States Air Force from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1955. Tony was active in sports having played baseball, football and basketball in high school and baseball in the Air Force where he was on many championship teams. He also played senior softball until the age of seventy-five and traveled to many tournaments around the country that his team won. Tony was a good and caring person who loved his family first and foremost. Tony was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church. At Tony's request, there will be no public visitation. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Court Street, Binghamton, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. Expressions of sympathy in Tony's memory may be made to YMCA of Broome County, 61 Susquehanna Street, Binghamton, NY 13901.
