Please share a memory of Ruth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ruth A. Mullins, 63, of Conklin, NY, passed away on January 5th, 2024 surrounded by her loving family, after her courageous battle with Leukemia. Ruthie is survived by her devoted husband, David Mullins, and three children Collin Mullins (wife, Amanda), Caitlin Mullins, and Patrick Mullins; two grandchildren, Georgie Mullins and Logan Mullins. She is also survived by two sisters, Cathy Sprague (husband, David) and Annie Lynch; brother and sister-in-laws Andy and Colleen Lynch, James and Karen Mullins, Timothy and Cathy Mullins, Christine Mullins, Richard and Marie Mullins. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Brezak and Phyllis Polumbo (Prusik); mother and father-in-law Rose Mary (McCormack) and James Mullins; brother-in-law Michael Mullins. Ruthie was born December 6th, 1960 in Binghamton, NY. She graduated from Binghamton North High School where she met her husband of 42 years, David. Ruthie continued her education at Broome Community College where she completed her degree in radiologic technology and, later, mammography. She was employed by United Health Services for 33 years and worked proudly as a mammographer at the UHS Breast Center. She cared deeply for the incredible individuals she worked alongside, as well as the patients that she served. Ruthie was a compassionate mother and wife who perpetually put the comfort and needs of others ahead of her own. Her love and affection for her children was only matched by the adoration she had for her grandchildren. She loved nothing more in life than being the sweet, energetic, and fun-loving "Grammy" to Georgie and Logan. She was known as "Aunt Ruthie" to her several nieces and nephews, as well as to many of her children's friends. Her pantry was always stocked with snacks and you could often find something delicious baking in the oven when you arrived at her home. Ruthie enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and walking. Her infectious laugh and silly sense of humor brought joy to all of those around her. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Paul's Church, Chenango Street, Binghamton, Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. Memorial contributions in Ruthie's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The family also asks individuals to consider donating blood and/or platelets, as well as registering on the bone marrow transplant database (bethematch.org) to help those with blood cancers continue their own fight.
