Obituary of Patrick G. Cornell

Patrick G. Cornell, 88 of the Town of Binghamton, died Thursday, February 13, 2014. He was predeceased by his son, Randy Cornell. He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Rita Cornell; his children, Jack Cornell, Joan and Joseph Nannery, Ronald Cornell; two grandchildren, Patrick and Michael Cornell; several nieces and nephews. He was the founder and retired owner of Patrick Cornell & Son Inc. General Contractors for 66 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific. He was an avid skier and always put family first. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Sunday from 1-3 p.m. Burial will be in Glen Castle Cemetery, Castle Creek in the spring. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Pat may be made to Broome Developmental Center Patient Activities, 249 Glenwood Rd., Binghamton, NY 13905.
