Thomas D. Scalise, 56, of Binghamton, died unexpectedly Wednesday, February 5, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Lori Schaeffer Scalise; his daughters, Hannah and Olivia Scalise; his parents, Catherine & Gary Wigal, Conklin, Thomas & Josie Scalise, FL; a devoted sister, Marcia Ehret, FL; brother, James T. & Deborah Scalise; brothers-in-law, Robert & Kathy Schaeffer, Mike & Ann Marie Schaeffer, Jeff & Rhona Schaeffer, Donald Schaeffer, Doug & Lisa Schaeffer, Phillip & Amanda Schaeffer; mother and father-in-law, Phyllis & Richard Martin, Ft. Myers, FL; nieces and nephews, Max Ehret, Marcella and Nicholas Scalise, Michael, Thomas and Mariah Schaeffer, Danielle and Christopher Schaeffer, Abby Schaeffer. Tom was a member of the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Binghamton. He was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School, Class of 1975. He was a member of the NYS Teamsters Union and was employed by the City of Binghamton Parks and Recreation Dept. for 26 years, usually seen driving the "Gang Mower." A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal Ave., Binghamton, Monday at 9:30AM. Burial will be in Slovak Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Sunday from 2-5PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Tom may be made to NBT Bank, 3121 Vestal Parkway E., Vestal, NY 13850 to an Educational Trust for his daughters. Please make checks payable to Hannah and Olivia Scalise.
