Obituary of Judith I. Sullivan

Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Judith I., (Judy), Sullivan passed away unexpectedly on June 4th, 2023 after having enjoyed a beautiful spring day. Judy was predeceased by her husband of 49 years James J. Sullivan. She is remembered by her daughter Janine Sullivan (Eugene Getz), son Colin (Joan) Sullivan, grandchildren Leigh (Eric) Mingos, Lynn Lamphere, and Brianne, Brett, Sean, Colin and Kathleen Sullivan. Judy began her career as a receptionist at IBM and followed a career path that saw computers replace IBM Selectric typewriters. Further along, she proudly graduated from Broome Community College with an Associate Degree in Health Information Technology and utilized her degree at Fairview Good Shepherd Nursing Home. At retirement age, she enjoyed working at the Kirkwood Town Office. Judy loved traveling and cruising with a beloved group of friends. She embraced her Slovak ancestry as well has her IBM (Irish By Marriage) status. She enjoyed watching football and basketball with family and Saturday Notre Dame football games were a priority. She had an artistic talent and many of her paintings reside with family members. Her biggest source of joy was her family, including all of her devoted cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Pool parties and holidays were big celebrations at her home in Kirkwood. In memory of Judy, have a cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee (her favorite) and remember her well-lived life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a good deed, a kind word, or a contribution to an organization dear to your heart. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Paul's Church, Chenango Street, Binghamton, Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J. A.
