Obituary of Frank DePersis
Frank D. PePersis of Binghamton, 95, went to be with the Lord on February 10, 2018. Frank is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 72 years, Catherine (Fasano); his sons Alex (Mary) and Stephen (Lenore); grandchildren Danielle and Timothy Armstrong, Alex II Dominic (Nataliya) and Matthew; great grandchildren Nathan and Amelia Armstrong, Andriy, Melaniya and Maksym and many treasured nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his devoted parents Alexander and Candelora (Mastronardi) DePersis, his loving sisters and brothers Felicia and Armando Palmieri, Rita and Oscar Slater, Angelo and Mabel DePersiis, Rudy and Anita DePersis, and his sister in law Katie DePersiis. He was a devoted and lifelong member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Frank was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army from October 1940 until September 1945 with the 106th Infantry Division in the pacific theater of the War effort earning the Purple Heart and Bronze Star during his service. His membership in the American Legion spanned more than 30 years where he served two terms a Commandant of the 27th Division. He loved watching his New York Yankees play baseball and spending time with family and friends. During his lifetime he worked in sales, operated his own business for a number of years and finished his employment years as an employee of the City of Binghamton. He was a man's man whose heart was much bigger than most. To those of us who knew him best, he was bigger than life. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary of the Assumption Church Court Street, Binghamton, Friday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at St. Mary of the Assumption Church Friday from 9 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
