Ruth Tronovitch Sheehan of Harpursville was born November 6, 1936 and went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2016. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Clare Corlyon; her brother, Charles Corlyon and her first husband, Steve Tronovitch. Ruth is survived by her husband of 31 years, Edward Sheehan; her two sons, Steven (Rick ) and Barbara Tronovitch, Robert and Kathleen Tronovitch, and her daughter Karen and Gerald Dempsey. She is also survived by her brother, Phil Corlyon; sister, Margaret Hayes and sister-in-law, Heidi Corlyon. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Heather and Pete Jackson, Jessica and Jeffrey Amell, Steven and Carrie Tronovitch, Megan and Michael McGreenery, Kelly Dempsey, Ryan and Danielle Tronovitch, Katie and Tim Batty, as well as great grandchildren, Danny and AnnMarie Jackson, Lauren and Thomas Amell, Maeve and Hannah McGreenery and Avalyn Tronovitch. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many friends that she made throughout her life. Ruth was a nurse and worked many years at Lourdes Hospital. After leaving the hospital, she worked for the ENT office of Drs. Bogdasarian and King, then at St. Louise Manor. She was also the proud proprietor of Sweet Meadows gift shop in Colesville, NY. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption church choir, as well as the German Club choir. She loved to sing. Ruth had many accomplishments in her life but her greatest accomplishment was the family that she nurtured and loved. Ruth was a mother that was always present in her children's lives. Ruth offered her guidance throughout their lives and was always a mother first and friend second. She was a special friend to her son-in-law, Jerry and daughters-in-law, Barbara and Kathleen. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 26, at 9:30 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Binghamton. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Anyone who knew Ruth could attest to her fondness for animals. Ruth was an outstanding example of a woman, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. We love her and will miss her more that words can express. Rest in peace Mom and know that we have always been with you.
