Marianne McCormick Murphy passed away peacefully at home on August 24, 2026. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Loretta McCormick, brothers Vince (Ruth), Kevin (Shirley), Regis, and her husband Tom, and son Matthew. She is survived by her 5 children: Michael (Robin), Daniel (Kelley), Colleen, Kathleen, and Thomas (Elda). Also her daughter-in-law Wendy (Rick). She was Nana to 5 grandchildren: Haley (Chris), Morgan (Rob), Connor (Katie), Danny Jr., Justin, and Great Nana to Frankie Grace.

It's not possible to fully describe the significance of a person's life like Marianne's. She devoted her life to raising her beautiful family. She was always the neighborhood mom, and the cheerleader on the sidelines.

After her kids were grown, she was a devoted care provider to her grandkids. In later years, she was a devoted caregiver to her husband. She remained devoted to her lifelong friends, many of whom she met in kindergarten.

Marianne was devout in her faith and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church.

She had a gift for storytelling, and reminiscing about the good old times gave her great joy. She was an avid reader and loved her iPad which allowed her to communicate with her kids, friends and family. She was a big sports fan.

Marianne was also a great baker, and her rolls and pies were always the highlight of holiday meals.

Words can't describe the tremendous loss we feel. Our beloved Nana was a true matriarch in every sense of the word. Our hearts are broken, but our memories of her will live on forever.

A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road Vestal, Wednesday September 2, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery, Silver Lake, PA. The family will receive friends at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
