Alan Storti, 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, following heart-related complications.

Alan was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend whose larger-than-life personality and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He was predeceased by his parents, Louise and Theodore Storti. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Storti; his son, Bobby Storti; his siblings, Tony Storti, Ted (Diane) Storti, Maria Ragard, and Mike Storti; his grandchildren, Corey, Theo, and Christopher Streno; his aunt, Catherine Schell; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Al retired from Eureka Tent and the City of Binghamton Parks Department, but he was perhaps best known for his years as the owner of The Outer Limits and for his many years spent refereeing basketball games. He was a huge fan of the NY Yankees, NY Giants, and NY Knicks, but basketball was truly one of his passions. He loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events, especially their basketball games, where he could usually be found sitting courtside- offering his coaching advice not only to his grandchildren, but to just about every player on the court, regardless of what their actual coach might have had to say.

Al had a gift for making people laugh. He was quite the jokester, always ready to stir the pot, push someone's buttons, or egg people on just enough to get a reaction. His humor, quick wit, and unmistakable personality were simply part of who he was, and those who knew him will undoubtedly have a story (or two) to tell about him.

He also had a well-known love of desserts, whether it was cake, cookies, cupcakes, or just about anything sweet. Al was a frequent, and nearly daily, visitor to Birtchy's Café, a place that became part of his routine and where he even helped Corey and Theo get their first jobs.

Above all, Alan was a devoted father and grandfather, a loyal brother, a funny and dependable uncle and great-uncle, and a friend to everyone. He had a way of making himself part of the lives of those around him, and his presence, humor, and love will be deeply missed.

Alan leaves behind not only his family, but countless memories, stories, laughs, and moments that will be cherished for years to come. His voice may be quiet, but his personality and the mark he made on the people who loved him will never be forgotten.

A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal Avenue, Binghamton on Tuesday August 18, 2026 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
