Ann M. Krolak Lynch, 70, of Binghamton, passed away June 26, 2026, at home under the loving and devoted care of her husband John and niece Kelley.

Ann was born in Washington, D.C., on September 25, 1955, the daughter of Anthony and Florence Matuszak Krolak. Ann was a graduate of La Reine High School and earned a Nursing degree (R.N.) from Marymount College of Virginia, now Marymount University.

Ann began her nursing career at Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C. — the hospital where she was born. She continued her nursing career at several healthcare institutions in and around the D.C. area and retired from Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton.

While employed at the Little Sisters of the Poor nursing home in Washington, D.C., she met a fellow employee, John Lynch. Ann and John were married on July 26, 1986, at St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Silver Spring, Maryland. They moved to Binghamton in 1989.

In retirement, Ann volunteered at the Lourdes Hospital Gift Shop and enjoyed skiing, golfing, and scuba diving. Ann was an accomplished quilter who spent many hours creating beautiful quilts for family and friends. Her greatest joy in retirement was caring for her beloved cats and dogs. The neighborhood squirrels and stray cats also received her kind and generous attention. John and Ann loved to travel, having visited many states and countries, and delighted in weekend trips to New York City. One of Ann's most cherished memories was a transatlantic cruise from Brooklyn, New York, to Southampton, England, aboard the Queen Mary 2, during which she and John renewed their vows on their 25th anniversary before the ship's captain.

Ann was predeceased by her parents; her stepfather, John Link, who became her dad following her father's death when Ann was just 5 years old; her brothers Larry Krolak and Paul Krolak; as well as her stepbrothers Joseph Link and James Link.

Ann is survived by her husband, John P. Lynch; her stepsister, Melita Link; her niece, Kelley Karney; her nephews Scott Krolak, Brian Krolak, and Douglas Krolak; her great-nieces and great-nephews Michael Krolak, Nicole Krolak, Amber Krolak, Asher Long, Paige Krolak, and Charlotte Long. She is also survived by cousins, many dear neighbors and friends, and the caregiving family of Home Instead, whose compassionate care supported Ann throughout her journey with Parkinson's disease.

The family is deeply grateful to the nurses and staff of Guthrie Lourdes Hospice for the kindness and comfort they provided to Ann and to all of us during this time.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, Corner of Oak and Leroy Streets, Binghamton, Wednesday July 1, 2026 at 11 a.m.

The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Tuesday June 30, 2026 from 3 to 6 p.m. The Mass will be live streamed at www.sta-sp.org or simply go to youtube.com and put in St. Thomas Aquinas Binghamton.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Fremont, New York.

The Southern Tier Nurses Honor Guard will hold a short service prior to Mass on Wednesday.

Ann faced her many health battles with courage and grace.
