Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts, that we share the loss of our beloved husband and father, Joseph Kurutz, 89; he passed peacefully on February 16, 2026. Joseph was born in Jenkins, PA on St Joseph's Day. Growing-up in Dupont, PA, he loved playing football and was the Vice-President of his high-school class. He married his one true love, Louise, on a rainy July day, devoting over 65 years to each other. They were blessed with 2 children, 2 grand-children, and 1 great-grandson. Joseph is survived by his wife Louise, daughter Ann-Marie and her husband Jeff; son Michael Sr.; grandsons Evan & Michael Jr.; great-grandson Joseph, son of Michael Jr. & Anne. Joe proudly served his country in the Army. After he was honorably discharged, he moved to New York. He graduated from Adelphi College with a Business Degree. During his career as an Engineer, he worked for Fairchild Engine & Republic Steel; He retired from IBM, where he worked for over 24 years. Joseph's devotion to his wife, family and faith, were an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a dedicated usher for over 30 years at St Vincent de Paul. He was quick with a joke and a song; he loved to make people laugh. His positive words of hope encouraged and supported many of their friends through difficult times. Joseph will be greatly missed by all of those who knew him. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the Doctors of Lourdes Hospital and the Team working in Seton 1, their gentle care and patience during a very difficult time, brought comfort to Joe, Louise and his family. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, Friday, February 20, 2026 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
