Obituary of Bruce D. Theobald

Bruce D. Theobald, born in Rome NY on April 10, 1939, died on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025, in The Villages, Florida, after a short illness. He was raised in Camden, NY. He is predeceased by his parents Adelbert and Helen (Payne) Theobald, his brother Bernard, Sidney, NY and his sister Patricia Abrams, FL, and 2 nephews. He is survived by his wife (of 59yrs) Mary Hogan Theobald, sisters Donna Cluse, NC and VT, and Suzanne Elston, FL, several sisters and brothers in-laws and 42 nieces and nephews. He retired in 1994 as an elementary school principal at Tioga Hills and African Road schools in the Vestal School District. As a lover of sports, he was a former baseball umpire, basketball and soccer official and a soccer official assigner. He loved watching basketball, football and golf and wintering in Fl. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, Monday February 16, 2026 at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Sunday February 15, 2026 from 2 to 4 p.m. and again at St. Vincent de Paul Church on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. The family requests that flowers please be omitted and expressions of sympathy in Bruce's memory be made to Danielle House, 160 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, NY 13905 or to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N.
