Marge used to transport numerous children in her Volkswagen van. It was typically packed with 8 or more kids, and I was fortunate to be one of them. One particular memory sticks out of me (probably 9 or 10 years old,) pointing out a frail old person struggling by the side of the road. I was insensitive in whatever I said, and Marge said, you know, someday that's going to be you and some kid's going to yell, hey, look at little 'ol Freddy Hotchkiss.
Well, I'm 66 now and those words have stuck with me. She was a wise woman, and kudos to those who wrote the obituary. Very nicely done.
