Obituary of Gail M. Cribbs
Please share a memory of Gail to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Born April 17, 1950, Gail Marie Cribbs passed away peacefully January 7, 2026 after spending 2 weeks in palliative care at Wilson Hospital.
Gail graduated from Seton Catholic High School in 1968 and then became a registered nurse working primarily at Binghamton General Hospital in the G.I. Dept.
She retired early after 30 years of service to be able to care for her mom at home.
To this day she has stayed in touch with several of her patients. Gail was very dedicated to her profession, took great pride in her work and was well liked and respected by all.
Gail was also very giving. She would often buy small gifts for her many friends including the hair dresser, manicurist and even the pharmacist for most holidays.
She has a fruit cellar full of boxes (all sizes) and wrapping paper for such occasions.
Gail was predeceased by her parents Patrick and Helen Cribbs, and her much adored brother Terry in 2020. She is survived by her long time love and partner of 27 years, David Westfall, her sister in law Barbara Cribbs and niece Gina Smith.
All those who knew Gail would agree what a kind, gentle and good hearted woman she was, always generous with her affection. One of the best that has ever lived.
She will be GREATLY MISSED!
We would like to thank and acknowledge the wonderful nursing staff at Wilson Hospitals palliative care unit for their kindness and attention to her needs during such a difficult time.
