Please share a memory of Kathleen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kathleen M (Carroll) Dugo, 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2025. Beloved wife of 54 years to Howard Dugo, Kathleen was the devoted mother of Brian Dugo and Kara & Kevin Zimmerman and the cherished grandmother ("Mimi") to Kaitlyn and Liam. She was a loving sister to Maureen & Glenn Speer, Patricia & William Pichette, and Geralyn & Joseph Esworthy. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Mary Carroll. She is also survived by many nephews and a circle of dear friends who cherished her deeply.
For 50 years, Kathleen served as a respected and compassionate nurse leader at both Binghamton General Hospital and UHS Wilson Hospital. Her dedication to patient care, her mentorship of young nurses, and her steady, reassuring presence shaped generations of healthcare professionals and touched countless families. Her impact on the nursing community will continue to be felt for decades to come.
Kathleen found joy in the places, people, and traditions she held close to her heart. She treasured her home at Lake Sophia, where she found peace, friendship, and a sense of belonging. Summers were spent at the Jersey Shore in Wildwood Crest, surrounded by her large extended family and treasured friends. She especially loved the lively gatherings hosted with her lifelong friend Fran Libous, who could feed forty people with a smile—Kathleen always at her side, sharing laughter, stories, and love.
She also enjoyed countless camping adventures with Howard throughout the Northeast, with their cherished fall trips to Myrtle Beach becoming a beloved tradition that brought them both joy and renewal.
Kathleen will be remembered for her kindness, her generosity of spirit, her unwavering dedication to others, and the warmth she brought to every moment. Her legacy lives on in the family she loved, the friends she embraced, and the countless lives she touched through her work and her life.
