Obituary of Robert M. Nugent

Robert M. Nugent passed away on November 22, 2025, in Binghamton, New York. A dedicated husband and father, Robert's presence will be deeply missed by those who knew him. His life was marked by devotion and care for his family, leaving behind memories that will be cherished. He is survived by his wife Ann Nugent; his daughters Jacqueline Nugent and Kimberly (Adam) Sutryk; grandchildren Madison Sutryk, Morgan Sutryk & Maeghan Sutryk; his siblings: Nancy Korreck, Margaret (Paul) Croy, James (Deborah) Nugent, Kathleen (Michael) Wheeler, and several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins He was predeceased by his parents, Rita and Walter Nugent; Grandparents Margaret and Michael Burke; Aunts/Uncles: Betty and Joe Minehan, Kathleen and Bob Bucher, and Brother-in-law Art Korreck. He retired from IBM, where he worked as a software developer for 37 years. He graduated from King's College, where he was a star basketball player for the Monarchs and was the Athlete of the Year in 1963. He served his country as a Reserve Commissioned Officer in the US Army and was also a member of the Binghamton Country Club for several years. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Paul's Church, 282 Chenango Street, Binghamton, Wednesday November 26, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. The family will receive friends at St. Paul's Church from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City at the convenience of the family.
