Linda Lee Bianco Kocik, of Binghamton, NY, peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025 in her home with her devoted husband, John after a difficult battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Linda was born on August 4 to Angelina and Joseph Bianco in Binghamton, NY. Linda went on to attend and graduate from Catholic Central. At Catholic Central Linda was a cheerleader and made many life-long friends including her husband, John. John and Linda were eventually married for over 50 years and went on to have three daughters, Dare, Jamie, and Elizabeth
Linda eventually went to work at Wilson Regional Memorial Hospital in Johnson City as the Director of the Women's Auxiliary and Volunteers for over 20 years. Linda was passionate about welcoming patients and their families into the hospital, so that they could have a comforting time while healing. In this position Linda excelled. She was able to marry her impeccable taste with her undeniable charm and charisma in dealing with the public.
After Linda retired, she was devoted to her many grandchildren, continued to hone her painting skills, beautified her home with her landscaping, and found time to collect a variety of antiques. Linda was a fiercely loyal friend who kept in touch with those who meant the most to her. She often shared entertaining stories of her fondest times with her best friends. Friends, neighbors, and aides continued to show up for Linda throughout her illness by providing companionship, meals, and support- a gift that was not unnoticed by her children and husband.
Linda was predeceased by Angela and Joseph Bianco, Mary Ann Bianco Brokaw. She is survived by her brother Joseph Bianco, her husband, John Kocik, their daughters and husbands; Dare and Erik LaSalle, Jamie and Clayton Culp, Elizabeth and John Zimmerman. Linda was further blessed with eight beautiful grandchildren; Isabella, Wylee, Fenway, Calvin, Nola Mae, Julian, Parker, Wally.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Court Street, Binghamton, Monday September 29, 2025 at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Monday from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Linda's memory may be made to Danielle House, 160 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, NY 13905 or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
