Michael J. Shea Obituary
Michael Shea passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at his home. Mike was predeceased by his parents Jack and Marie Shea, aunts, uncles and several cousins.
Mike was a life-long Southsider. He worked in the meat department at Wegmans for over 30 years where he developed lasting friendships with co-workers and customers. Prior to that he worked side by side with his father at the White Star Market.
Mike was an avid reader but most of all enjoyed traveling with his brother Bob. Many of these trips included following his beloved Los Angeles Dodgers. His new home away from home became frequent trips to Siesta Key with the "crew".
Mike is survived by his brothers Bob Shea and John and Susan Shea and his sister Marilyn Bailey and Dana Thurston. In addition, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many loyal friends.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal Avenue, Binghamton, Thursday September 25, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Thursday from 9 a.m. until 10:20 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to Mercy House, 212 N. McKinley Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
