Obituary of Maureen D. McCarthy

Maureen Dawn McCarthy "Moe" , age 72, passed away on Wed Sept 17 2025 peacefully at Mercy House of the Southern Tier surrounded by family. Maureen was predeceased by her parents John and Rita McCarthy, her siblings Rita Farrow, Susan McCarthy, John McCarthy, Nicholas McCarthy, Thomas McCarthy and dear cousin Paul Sullivan and Mike Sullivan. Maureen is survived by her brother Robert McCarthy and sister Betty (Thomas) Curley, brother -in- law George Farrow, and sister -in- law Lori McCarthy, numerous nieces and nephew. Special cousins Mary Sullivan, Jean (Jim) Smith, Ann O'Neil, and her god mother, cousin and friend Dawn (Bob) Weber. Lastly, her best and dearest friend, Bob. Maureen graduated from Catholic Central High School, class of 1971, and retired from The Greater Binghamton Health Center. Maureen loved traveling, running, biking, animals, and her many afternoons at Forest Lake. The family would like to thank, Maureen's caregivers, Norma Roberts, Caroline Zindle, and Kay Wiser, also The Lourdes Guthrie Hospice, and special thanks to all the wonderful volunteers and staff at the Mercy House of the Southern Tier. They are truly angels A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal Avenue, Binghamton, Tuesday September 23, 2025 at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Maureen's memory may be made to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N.
