Sebastiano "Bill" Campoli Obituary
Sebastiano (Bill) Campoli, of Chenango Bridge, passed to his heavenly reward on July 30, 2025 after a long life of 99 years and 2 months, and a short decline. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Margaret (Weir) Campoli, his Italian immigrant parents, Angelo and Teresa (Sergio) Campoli, his brothers John and Dave and infant sister Gloria, and son-in-law Dr. John Grasso. He is survived by his children; William (Vonda) Campoli, Chenango Bridge, Daniel (Diana) Campoli, and Martha Grasso (Dan Roach) all of Raleigh, NC; his sister Esther (Edward )Byron, Endicott, and his nephew James Campoli; his grandchildren, Dr. Jennifer Campoli (Christopher) Murphy, Melissa (Christopher) Greco, William Campoli, Jr., Matthew, Jeremiah (Stephanie) Campoli, Danielle (Andrew) White, and John and Dom Grasso; step-grandchildren Nicole Becker, Danielle (John) Ludwick, Brian Osborn, Melissa Stanton, Erin (Brian) Harahus, and Jessica Osborn; twenty great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. As with many of the greatest generation he survived the great depression and WW2, where he served in Germany in the 7th. Cavalry. He was proprietor of "Bill's Market" on Leroy St., Binghamton, where many west side teens hung out, as well as other sales jobs throughout his life. He was a Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus, and District Deputy of multiple councils. He was a member of the American Legion post 1645. He loved golf and carried his own bag while walking the course into his 80's. He and his wife loved to dance and were members of the Shufflin Shoes Square Dance Club. They also traveled extensively, visiting Italy, Ireland and Poland. They even took their children on a month long trip across the country in the back of a station wagon. They enjoyed trips to casino's and he visited Tioga Downs a week before his passing.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Chenango Street, Hillcrest, Monday October 6, 2025 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Monday October 6 from 8:45 a.m. until 9:45 a.m.
