Martin Joseph Gallagher, 68, of Endicott, NY, died peacefully surrounded by his family on July 25, 2025. He was predeceased by his father, William "Pete" Gallagher, and his twin brothers, Thomas Edward and Terence Gerard, and his brother Daniel, all of Binghamton, NY. He is survived by his long-time partner Nancy Jardine and her daughters Amanda (Doug) Blake of Owego, NY, and Kara (Tyler) Seeley and grandchild Jayce Cory of Fort Mill, SC; mother, Josephine (Farrell) Gallagher; and six siblings, including brothers Patrick of Binghamton; Thomas Leo (Wendy) of Riverside, CT; Dennis (Elizabeth) of Sanford, NC; and Terence Patrick (Wendi) of Binghamton; and sisters, Mary of Syracuse; and Sheila (David) Martin of Binghamton. Marty is survived by twelve nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, including Joseph (Brittany), John (Brianne), Molly, Michael and Bridget Martin; Kylie, Brian (Hannah) and Reagin Gallagher; Rachel, Leo and Redmond Gallagher; and Eoin Gallagher. Marty is also survived by many cousins and lifelong friends. Marty graduated from Catholic Central High School (1975) and from Niagara University, where he played football. He retired after a 23-year public service career as a Fire Fighter and Emergency Medical Technician for the City of Binghamton Fire Department, where he served from 1990-2013. An athlete all his life, Marty was an avid golfer, basketball player and fisherman. Marty was also a passionate fan of Seton Catholic Central High School sports, the Buffalo Bills, Notre Dame football, NASCAR, the New York Yankees and the Boston Celtics. He was a quiet leader, always humble, with a terrific sense of humor. He was a member of the Ancient Order Hibernians. In retirement, Marty was particularly devoted to the well-being of his parents. As a Catholic, Marty found deep comfort in practicing his faith, which provided strength and resilience during his last days. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. James Church, 147 Main Street, Johnson City, NY, on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at St. James Church from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City.
