James B. O'Hara, 83, of Vestal passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, June 9th. He is predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Julia O'Hara, and three brothers, Robert, Gerald, and Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Ann O'Hara, Daughters, Debbie Bomysoad, Julie and Michael Purdy, Bridget and James Ligas. Sisters, Mary O'Hara, Julia and Timothy Murphy. Brothers, Edward O'Hara, Joseph and Maureen O'Hara. Sisters-in-law Rosanne and Peggy O'Hara and many nieces and nephews. Seven grandchildren, Kara and Conor Talbut, Kevin Bomysoad and George Stewart, Cameron, Emma, and Evan Purdy, Jack and Sam Ligas. Four great grandchildren, Liam, Keegan, and Siobhan Talbut, Noah Bomysoad-Stewart. James graduated from Vestal High School and attended Broome Community College. He was a member of the Army National Guard and retired from IBM Endicott. He enjoyed Notre Dame football and loved being with his grandchildren. The family wishes that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Vestal Little League, PO Box 14, Vestal, NY 13851. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, Tuesday, June 17,l 2025 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Monday, June 16, 2025 from 4 to 6 p.m.
