Margaret (Maggi) Madigan, O'Malley, Gennarelli, Tomko, 82 passed away on June 4th after a period of declining health. She is predeceased by her parents John and Elizabeth Madigan, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins from the McMahon, Purple, Sullivan, Hanifin, and Cavanaugh families. She is survived by her devoted husband, George, her loving son, Sean, her cherished grandson Christian (fiancé Sheilymarie), sister Kathleen Steed Cullen (Tony), brother Jack Madigan (Rhonda), Mother-in-law Delores Werner, Father-in-law George Tomko, sisters-in-law Elizabeth Coyne and Joan Vallet (Brian). Also many nieces, nephews and cousins including the Steed, Herrick, Tomko, Coyne and Vallet families. Maggi graduated from Binghamton North High School and Broome Community College. She retired from the NYS Tax Department and went on to graduate from Marywood University with her MSW, fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming a social worker. Of all her accomplishments throughout her life, it was raising her grandson, Christian, which she was most proud of, and gave her the most happiness. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maggi's name can be made to ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or Ronald McDonald House 1100 E. Genesee Street Syracuse, NY 13210 or a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the staff at Willow Point Rehabilitation and Nursing Home North 1, for the compassion and care they showed towards Maggi and her family during this difficult time.
