Please share a memory of Lorna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
In loving memory of Lorna Loretta Noel-Norris March 2, 1944-May 31, 2025 With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother, Lorna Loretta Noel-Norris, who left this world on May 31, 2025 at the age of 81, surrounded by those who cherished her most. Born in Guyana, South America on March 2, 1944, Lorna brought light and laughter into every life she touched. She was known for her hard work, working two jobs and making sure her children were always taken care of, shopping at the farmers market (in abundance), cooking amazing food with her signature curry crab and chow mien on Saturday's and soup with jerk chicken and rice and peas on Sunday's, along with many more dishes I'm sure all who knew her could go on about. Later in her life she enjoyed watching her grandchildren with a heart that always had room for one more. Lorna lived a life full of meaning, grace, and quiet strength. Whether she was knitting and crocheting for her grand- and great grandchildren, playing bingo, writing all of her thoughts in her journal, playing her crosswords, gambling in the casino, or watching Lifetime movies, her love showed in countless small, unforgettable ways. She is survived by Charmaine Onje, Reynold Teekasingh, Marcell Teekasingh, Ronald Shawn Teekasingh, Hollis Teekasingh, Roderick Teekasingh, 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, her siblings, Shirley, Reginald Jr., Patsy, Raymond, Debbie, Donita, and Rhonda Noel, and many nieces and nephews who will carry forward her legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. She was welcomed into eternal rest by her parents, Reginald and Elizabeth Noel, her sister, Wynette Chung, and her son, Royston Teekasingh. A funeral to celebrate Lorna's beautiful life will be held on Saturday June 7th, 2025 at 10am at J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton. Rev. James Gajadhar will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Friday June 6, 2025 from 6 to 8 p.m. All who knew and loved her are welcome to join us in honoring the incredible person she was. Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, Lorna's love will forever remain etched in our hearts.
