I first met Jim at his wedding to my cousin, Dee, in Mahanoy City, PA where Dee had grown up. He was immediately likable and integrated into our family fully very quickly. But most of my memories are from when I was a pre-teen into my early 20s when Jim and Dee would come to stay with my family for a couple of weeks every summer at “the shore” also known as our home in Margate NJ. Jim was one of the kindest and gentlest people I have ever known, and he also had a very quick wit, a never-ending smile, and was the most handsome man on the beach. There were many afternoons spent sitting in lounge chairs on our lawn, telling stories and jokes, and catching up with many of our other cousins who came to visit as well. He loved Dee and his family fiercely. The last time I saw him was at another wedding, this time in Omaha, Nebraska, where we were seated together. We shared many memories that day, and I am glad we had that time to re-connect.
May his memory always be a blessing.
