I am deeply saddened by Gene's (GINO) passing. I met Gino in the early 90's . We became a very good friends
and we had many great times over the years. One of my favorite get togethers was on Tuesday evenings at Nebo's house for " polka night " Many of his friends will remember the great times we had at these get togethers. Gino would get Dan Jan's radio show on and we would barbecue, party, and listen to Polka music. That may sound crazy to some. But it was
Great times.
My sincere condolences to Gino's family. Gina we are here for you with anything you might need help with. We love you.

Gene was someone I have adored and looked up to since I was young. As close family friends, Gene and Gina always encouraged my love of music and created so many amazing, music-filled memories with me. I'll never forget visiting their home to play CDs and concert DVDs, and spending time in my backyard hearing Gene reminisce about Binghamton's south side. He had a wonderful way of relaying stories and memories. He was a deeply kind and empathetic person with a brave heart, ready to fight for the dignity of all people. I will never forget the impact he has had on my life.
All the love in the world to Gene and his phenomenal wife Gina.

Gene will be missed, but the memory of him will live on. My kids will miss seeing their grandpa's best friend at Halloween while trick or treating. As for myself, I have a lot of childhood memories of him. I could always count on him to watch over me if my dad was goofing around at a party. One time when I was little, and we all went jet skiing.
I wasn't close enough to the bank to get out of the river and the current was taking me down the river pretty fast. I was freaking out because my dad didn't hear me calling for help, and I remember Gene coming to the edge and yelling "Core! Just put your feet down and stand up" and I realized it was shallow enough to walk easily back. However, as a young kid, I was terrified in that moment, and I was so relieved when he was there to help me. I'll never forget that.
