Thomas J. Ruddy Obituary

Thomas J. Ruddy, beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025 at the age of 85. Born on June 29, 1939 in Kingston, PA, Tom lived a life defined by love, strength, and unwavering dedication to his family. He proudly served in the US Army and retired from IBM, Loomis Armored Services, and the Serafini Nissan Volvo Dealership.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 52 years, Nancy Ruddy, his mother, Helen Ruddy, and sister Dolores Suda. Tom is survived by his son, Matthew J. Ruddy of Oneida, NY, daughter, Jennifer R. Strong (Brian) of Wake Forest, NC, six beloved grandchildren, Brayden, Colin, Quin, Addison, Peyton, and Christian, special friend, Mary Haley of East Syracuse, NY, sister, Theresa Ruddy, godson, Dale Powers, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He will be remembered by his warm smile, sense of humor, and engaging conversations. Tom never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. His stories and conversations were a testament to his genuine spirit and interest in people and life in general. He will be deeply missed.

A Funeral Mass will be offered at Saint Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, NY on Friday, May 2nd at 10am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY. The family will receive family and friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, NY on Thursday, May 1st from 4 to 6 PM
