Samuel V. Manning, 87, of the Town of Binghamton formerly of Lewes, Delaware died Wednesday April 9, 2025 at his home. He was born July 16, 1937 in Endicott, NY where he grew up. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret "Peg" Manning. Sam is survived by his two sons, David V. Manning Town of Binghamton, NY and Michael J. Manning and his wife Theresa of Glenallen, VA; and by his grandsons, Zachary, Richmond, VA and Nathan, Norfolk, VA. Sam was employed by General Electric for 32 years as a logistics engineer. When he wasn't working he enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. After retirement, he and Peg moved to Lewes Delaware, where he loved fishing for flounder. He became Commodore of the Lewes yacht club. Sam also was a member of various Elks clubs, and a member of the Glendale and Cayuga Lake beagle clubs. One of Sam's favorite sayings was, "Every day you open your eyes is a good day." He will be missed by family and friends. He was a member of St. Augustine Church, Brackney, PA A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Augustine's Church, Brackney, PA, Monday April 14, 2025 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Sunday April 13 from 2 to 4 p.m.
