Our Beloved Mother Eleni (Papastrat) Anastos, 94, of Binghamton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 with her family by her side. She was born March 1931 in Gorani, Greece. She was predeceased by her husband George Anastos, her parents Vasilios and Maria Papastrat and her sisters Pat and Stacy. She is survived by her son Louis (Matina) Anastos, daughter Mary Elaine (Taso) Stefos and her fabulous five special grandchildren Paul, Heleena, George, George and Peter. She had a loving relationship with her siblings Voula (Louis) Diamantakos, Jean Alikakos, James (Georgia) Papastrat and Chris (Crystal) Papastrat and with her sisters-inlaws and brothers-inlaws Rolando (Pat), Athena, Poti and Stella; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Eleni was a strong family woman and was always there for everyone. She loved tending to her flowers, loved to cook and throw family get-togethers. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters and brothers especially talking about their younger days in their village. She loved to go for walks, listen to music, eat ice cream, shop, go out for lunch and especially loved hanging out with her Grandchildren. She was an active member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. The family will receive family and friends at Holy Trinity Church, 214 Court Street, Binghamton on Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Funeral Services will follow at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, at 10:30 a.m. Dr. Rev. Phillip Yanulis will officiate. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell.
