Robert Francis Walters was born on October 4th, 1936 in Binghamton, NY and died on February 25th, 2025. Bob was raised in Endicott, NY and attended St. Ambrose School through 9th grade. He attended UE High School where he played on the varsity baseball team for 3 years, before graduating in 1954. He graduated from College of the Holy Cross in 1958 and remained a proud Crusader his entire life. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1958-1960. He was hired by IBM Owego in 1960 as a program cost control manager, and remained employed until retirement in 1987. He was then hired back as a temporary employee, until his full retirement in 1992.

Bob married his soul mate, Lorna Leonard, on July 6th, 1963. They settled in Vestal, NY where they raised their 4 children and created many happy memories.

Bob enjoyed spending time in Stone Harbor, NJ, and later in life Hilton Head, SC. He was proud to be a St. Vincent Blessed Sacrament founding parishioner. He was deeply devoted to his Catholic faith, his family, his friends, and his country. He was known to always be thinking of others.

Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lorna, and his children Mary Ellen Fodera (Joseph), Tom (Melissa), Mark (Jill), and Maureen Yacynych (John). He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Lauren and Stephanie Fodera, Alyssa Breznak (Shane), Walter and Jenna Yacynych, Katie, Patrick, Emma, and Peyton Walters. He is survived by one great grandchild, Mila Breznak.

Bob was predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Regina, his brother Dr. John Walters (Ann), and his sister, Sister Mary Lawrence Walters.

A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, Saturday March 1, 2025 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Friday February 28, 2025 from 4 to 6 p.m.
