Rita Martin, 90, of Loveland, OH formally of Charlotte, NC, and Vestal/Binghamton, NY passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025. She was born in Binghamton, NY on August 10th, 1934 to James and Helen Cox. Upon graduation from high school she was employed by Security Mutual. She married Charles L. Martin in September 1955 and they celebrated 61 years of marriage together before his passing. After the birth of her three daughters she returned to work at Binghamton General Hospital in the Medical Records Department. In 1984 she moved with her husband to Charlotte, NC. She completed her degree as a Medical Records Technician and was then employed by Mercy Hospital until her retirement. Summers were spent with family at the cottage that Charles built on Forest Lake in PA. Many special memories were created at the lake. Rita was predeceased by her husband Charles in 2017. She is survived by her daughters Kathleen (Joseph) Byrne, Patricia Martin, Sarah Anne (David) Bixler, 5 grandchildren, Eireann Blount, Meghan Silver, Martin, Nicholas, and Melissa Bixler, and 3 great grandchildren, Ryan, Rollins and Sophia. She is also survived by her sister, Kathleen Howell and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, Monday March 3, 2025 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
