Dear Mark, Megan and Mara,
Please accept our deepest sympathy. Your dad was a remarkable and outstanding man.
I laugh every time I remember our son Pete and Mara, ages 4-5, riding their big wheels through the wet sidewalk cement that the city had just laid on Crary Ave. I was all upset but John told me not to worry because you two weren't responsible for your own torts. Or some such legal term.
Later Mara and Pete held hands, jumped over a stick on the ground in our backyard and declared themselves married. Your Dad wasn't involved in that.
I don't have the space here to get into Mark's and Steve's escapades. Be grateful.
Your Dad will be missed by many people.
