Obituary of Timothy O. Comfort

Timothy O. Comfort, 67, of Endicott, passed away on November 15, 2021, surrounded by his family in the comfort and warmth of his home, after a three-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Ruth and his Mother-in-Law, Marjorie Shaughnessy. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 46 years, Sally A. Comfort and their children: Sarah E. Comfort, Dr. Ryan T. Comfort, Nolan P. Comfort, Esq. and his future Son-in-Law, Aleksandr B. Ustin. His siblings Connie, Mark, Robert and Scott. He is also survived by his Father-in-Law Paul J. Shaughnessy, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Jane and Gerald Hlopko, Patty and Marty Szymanski, and John Shaughnessy along with nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was an avid fly fisherman and well-respected business consultant for more than 20 years. He loved his family and was very proud of his children's accomplishments. The family would like to thank Dr. Jonathan Kloss and the dedicated team at Broome Oncology for their compassionate care and kindness shown to Tim, providing him every option for healing, the skilled teams at Memorial Sloan Kettering and Roswell Park Cancer Center, as well as the many nurses and health care personnel who guided us through this three-and-a-half-year journey. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis Street, Endwell, Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. The family requests that masks be worn.
