Benito "Benny" Joseph Scotti, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 23, 2021 due to complications from Covid 19. He was predeceased by his parents, Silverio and Civita Scotti and his brother, Guido Scotti. Benny is survived by the love of his life, Lucille, "Lucia" to Benny. They were married 62 years and deeply devoted to one another. Benny is also survived by his children, Maria (David) Berry, and Lucy Scotti, his grandchildren, Kristina (Erik) Gregory, Ryan Berry (Lindsay Silvanic), great grandchildren, Alexander Berry, Kourtney Gregory and Rosalie Gregory. Benny took great pleasure being with them at family gatherings. They loved their Nuno very much. Benny was born on the Isla de Ponza, Italy. When he was 17, he followed his father to Calgary, Alberta Canada, where he worked on the Canadian Pacific Railroad. At 20 he came to America, settling in Haskell, NJ, where he raised his family and worked as a mason, becoming an American citizen in 1960. Eventually, Benny started his own masonry company. In 1978 Benny moved his family to Nineveh, NY where he continued his masonry work. Benny loved the outdoors, especially hunting and growing beautiful vegetable gardens. In 2004, Benny, Lucia, and Lucy moved to a new home in Conklin, NY, where Benny continued to garden and enjoy his new neighbors. The family would like to thank the dedicated employees on the Star Unit, at JGJ Nursing Home for their care and love for Benny.
