Dave was born on March 18, 1933 in Auburn, NY. Following graduation from LeMoyne College in 1956, he began a 35-year career with IBM, primarily in Owego, NY. From 1964 to 1972, he and his family relocated to Huntsville, Alabama, where Dave worked as a computer programmer for NASA's Apollo and Saturn programs which sent men to the moon. He retired in 1991 as a Senior Programmer in Software Assurance. Dave was a quiet and humble guy with a hearty laugh. He was actively involved in his parish, SS. Cyril and Methodius, serving as a lector, treasurer and on Parish Council. He was also a computer coach for IBM Senior Net. Dave was an avid reader, photographer and hockey fan but many will remember him as a great cook. He and Hope enjoyed many trips abroad during their retirement. The family is especially grateful to Katie Bailey for her care and support of Dave and his family. A Funeral Mass will be offered at SS. Cyril and Methodius Church, Clinton Street, Binghamton, Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Slovak Catholic Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends at SS. Cyril and Methodius Church Friday from 9:30 a.m. until Mass time at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in David's memory may be made to St. Cyril's Church, 148 Clinton Street, Binghamton, NY 13905 or the Alzheimer's Association, 401 Hayes Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
