Robert James Gorman, (Bob-O)(Bullet), 79, of Binghamton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. He was born and lived in Binghamton. He was predeceased by his loving parents Mary and James Gorman and his infant daughter Theresa. He was the oldest of four children and was also predeceased by his brother Thomas Gorman. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara J. (White) Gorman; his son Denny Gorman (Betsy); his son Jay Gorman and daughter-in-law Kathy Gorman; his daughter Mary Beth and son-in-law Emory Thompson; his daughter Susie Capwell and son-in-law Patrick Capwell; his daughter Jennifer Gorman; his sisters Helen Baker (Kenny) and Mary Cevese (Joe); his sister-in-law Joyce and Dale Potter. Robert was extremely loving and proud of his grandchildren Casey Capwell, Abigail Capwell, Jarrett Thompson, Connor Capwell, Autumn Gorman and Reegan Gorman; also several nieces and nephews. He graduated from St. Patrick's Academy in 1957 and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a devoted and lifelong member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton and a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He enjoyed coaching both CYO basketball and youth baseball. He later enjoyed working for Binghamton University basketball. He was a retired 30 year manager for the IBM Corporation. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Highland Avenue, Binghamton, Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in Bob's memory may be made to Samaritan House, 11 Fayette Street, Binghamton, NY 13901.
